The Perfect Brow

Slay of the Day- The Perfect Brow

As the saying goes ‘eyes are the windows to the soul’, and every makeup artist loves applying eyeshadow to their clients, using a range of colours and blending it to perfection. But also important to those perfect eyes are the perfect brows! Nothing completes the look more than beautifully done eyebrows. This is one of my pet peeves in makeup application when doing it myself or seeing crazy brows on other people. I have to literally fight off the urge sometimes to grab my brow kit and reshape the person’s brow! Today I will share some tips on getting the perfect brow.

One of the requests I make to any client I’m going to do work on is to get their eyebrows waxed or groomed. This allows for easy shaping and filling in where necessary and using less product to conceal new hair growth. For persons with full eyebrows the work is minimal and its usually just to highlight with pencil or brow gel and conceal any errors to perfection, but if you have fine hairs like me it requires a little more work.

To fill your brows, you can use a brow pencil, powder or gel in a dark brown shade. I recommend using the dark brown shade as it is more natural looking as opposed to black which gives a harsh look, unless you naturally have thick black brows.

You can also go a lighter brown or other shades to match your complexion, some people even try to match it to their hair colour. I alternate between a brow powder or pencil dependent on the look I’m trying to achieve. Whichever I choose the process is the same. Check out my follow-up post on the process to the perfect brow.
