My Budget Friendly Daily Makeup Routine

My Budget Friendly Daily Makeup Routine

As much as I love makeup, I sometimes secretly wish I don’t have to wear it every day. Some people argue that I do not need to wear it, but I beg to differ. Maybe it’s because I grew up around it as I indicated in my initial post, maybe it’s because I feel it is appropriate greet persons throughout my day with a well put together face, or maybe it’s from being brainwashed by all the subliminal messages in the media. Whatever the subconscious reasoning, I have developed a daily makeup routine that I’m going to share with you today, which I try to achieve in 30 minutes!

So, after I’ve showered, done my facial preps (cleanse, tone, moisturize) I begin my process of ‘putting on my face’.

  • I start by applying face primer to my face and neck area. My go to face primer is Milani Prime Perfection, its budget friendly and it keeps my makeup in place all day. To give some support to our local brands, I recommend trying Think Pink face primer by the ‘color blocking queen’ Mrs. Amiela Razzaq AKA Pinky.

  • Next, I apply my foundation. Again, to save on cash as this is for everyday wear, I use Black Opal foundation.

  • After this I fill in my eyebrows. My go budget friendly eyebrow pencil is Jordana in dark brown and a while about a year ago I discovered their liquid eyeliner pencil in Expresso. It’s a bit trickier to use but I love using it because it lasts all day without smudging

  • Next, I use La Girl Pro Conceal to correct any errors to my brow and conceal the dark circles around my eyes.

  • I then set the concealer with Black Opal loose setting powder in light, then apply the medium light to the rest of my face. If time permits I add some neutral tones to my lids, line it with liquid liner and mascara and once my face is set I dust off any excess powder.

  • Then I lightly apply some blush to my cheek bone in a tea rose shade and a little bronzer above it to give my face a little highlight.

  • To complete the look, I apply a neutral color lip gloss or lipstick to my lips and I’m ready to go!

  1. I also use Black Opal... love the coverage of the foundation & how I actually get a shade to match my skin tone... there's also another foundation I use from Ruby Kisses (Kiss) the No More Blemishes liquid foundation, very light weight & leaves u looking flawless! Great for an everyday wear!

  2. Some drugstore makeup as they call it are really good, and it's a plus when it's budget friendly.....my routine is a bit similar to yours, especially when I'm on the go.
